All women in Georgia will have knowledge of and access to opportunities for optimal health for themselves and their families.

Mission

The mission of the Women's Health Section is to provide leadership and resources to communities in the development, use and continuous improvement of a continuum of health care that supports and improves the quality of life for women and their families.

Philosophy

We believe that the health and well-being of women will determine the future well-being of Georgia. To this end, the Women's Health Section, Family Health Branch, promotes prevention-focused health that engages women and their families in programs and activities that nurture the mind, body and spirit.

Outcomes

  • To increase knowledge of services available to women and their families.
  • To increase access to appropriate, quality care for women and their families.

The Women's Health Section has established one major goal to guide program and policy development and implementation to achieve the outcomes:

  • Establish a comprehensive community-based system of care, designed to enhance the quality of life.

Objectives

  • Objective 1:
    Establish and implement a community-based continuum of services for women and their families that encompasses the vision, mission and philosophy of women's health.
  • Objective 2:
    Establish a system to facilitate the continuous development and improvement of community Women's Health Programs.
  • Objective 3:
    Create and sustain a public awareness and education campaign that communicates the vision, mission, philosophy, goal and strategies of the Women's Health Section.
