Brochures
State law (O.C.G.A. 31-1-3.2) provides that "every licensed or certified hospital and physician shall educate the parents of newborn infants born in such hospitals of the importance of screening the hearing of newborn infants and follow-up care. To assist in this effort, two Georgia-specific educational brochures for parents of newborns, "Have You Heard?" and "Georgia’s Resource Guide for Families of Children with Hearing Loss" were developed. Copies are now available to hospitals, health departments, and interested others through the UNHSI Program.
“Have You Heard?” Brochure English and Spanish
This brochure includes information about the importance of early hearing screening. A section for newborn hearing screening results is included for parents to document results of the newborn hearing screen. Developmental milestones for speech, language and hearing as well as contact information for Georgia’s UNHSI program can be found in the brochure for parents of newborns.
