Training & Quality Assurance

Mission

The mission of the Quality Assurance Unit is to provide effective professional training in education and counseling on the prevention of HIV to public health workers in Georgia.

A new HIV Prevention Counseling course has been developed and was presented to instructors in December. The course, the first since 1988, should be available to wider audiences of instructors in the spring of 1997.

An STD Nurses' Clinical Update is periodically available to groups. Courses are being developed in the following topical areas: partner elicitation and notification, and self study courses (AIDS or STD 101) using CD-ROM technology. Other courses will be added soon.
