The STD Section is governed by official rules and regulations as provided by the
State of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Public Health. The legislative authority
(Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) Sections 19-7, 19-15, 31-12-2,
and 31-17
and Rules of the Georgia Department of Public Health, Chapter 290-5-3,
290-5-17, 290-5-20,
and 290-5-21,
is a listing of the laws and regulations governing STD-related activities across
Georgia. In addition, these laws govern the way STDs are reported throughout the
state.
