ArcSDE - I'm a GIS User at DHR, How Can I Get Spatial Data?
OHIP provides standard GIS data layers, readily accessible via ESRI's Spatial Data Engine (ArcSDE). DHR users of ESRI's GIS software (ArcView 3.x and 9.x) may connect to the ArcSDE server to access the map data layers.
Major Categories of GIS layers include:
| Boundaries – includes counties, census units, legislative
districts, etc. |
| Health Layers – includes Public Health districts, district offices, emergency shelters, etc. |
| Physical Geography – includes rivers, lakes, soils, etc. |
| Environmental – includes EPA Toxics Release Inventory sites |
| Transportation – includes roads, railroads, airports, etc. |
| Recreation – includes parks, recreational areas, etc. |
| Office of Regulatory Services Layers – includes hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, etc. |
| Other Layers – includes schools, homeless shelters, military bases, etc. |
If you are not a DHR GIS user, you can view the map layers by opening OHIP's
ArcSDE Published Map File in ESRI's free ArcReader software.
Download and install ArcReader.
