Dietetic Internship Program Goals

GA DPH DI Goal 1: The GA DPH DI will appoint qualified applicants who will successfully complete the dietetic internship program and become registered dietitians.

Outcome Measures - Goal 1:

• At least 95% of the dietetic interns will complete the GA DPH DI Program.
• At least 80% of the dietetic intern graduates will pass the CDR Registration Examination on the first time taking the examination.
• All Interns will achieve or exceed satisfactory ratings for all CADE core and community nutrition emphasis competencies.
• The program graduates will report a mean confidence level of 85% or higher for achievement of the CADE core and community nutrition emphasis competencies.
• At least 50% of program graduates will demonstrate work toward or obtainment of advanced degrees or certifications for specialized practice.

GA DPH DI Goal 2: The GA DPH DI program graduates will function as members of the nutrition care services team in community settings.

Outcome Measures - Goal 2:

• The mean rating of "preparation for entry-level practice" that employers of graduates working in community nutrition care services report will be a skills rating of 4.0 or higher (on a 5 point scale).
• The mean rating of "preparation for entry-level practice" that program graduates working in community nutrition care services will be a skills confidence level of 4.0 or higher (on a 5 point scale).

GA DPH DI Goal 3: The GA DPH DI will prepare graduates who will continue to practice in community nutrition care services in Georgia after program completion and increase the number of registered dietitians in the DPH system.

Outcome Measures - Goal 3:

• At least 95% of program graduates will indicate working/volunteering in community nutrition care services in Georgia 1 year after program completion.
• At least 50% of program graduates will indicate working/volunteering in community nutrition care services in Georgia 3 years after program completion.
• The number of registered dietitians in the DPH system will increase 20% from 2007 to 2012 and over 50% of the increase will be from GA DPH DI graduates.
