The route to becoming a Registered Dietitian is: successfully completing the CADE accredited Dietetic Internship, receiving a verification state of completion for the Dietetic Internship, and passing the CDR Registration Examination.
The Georgia Division of Public Health (DPH) Dietetic Internship is distinguished by its emphasis on public health including community health promotion, disease prevention and networking with partners. The program is available in participating health districts across the state.
The internship provides an opportunity for employees of the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) and contract agency employees at Southside Healthcare Inc. and Grady Health System, who have met the academic requirements of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), to become Registered Dietitians. The program aims to support the mission and goals of the Division of Public Health by providing a skilled, competent and credentialed public health nutrition workforce.
This internship is open to DHR and contract agency employees only. To qualify
applicants must have one or more years of service and meet all admission
requirements. This program does not participate in the computer match
process.
Employment information is available for those who are interested in a career as a public health nutritionist in Georgia.
