These are challenging and exciting times, but working together we can continue to craft a system that provides the best care for Georgia's mothers and babies.
Overview
The Council, established in 1972 by legislative code OCGA 31-4-1 through 31-4-3, has been a driving force in advocating for quality health care for Georgia's mothers and babies for over 30 years. Representative Sidney Marcus sponsored the legislation and it was signed into law by Governor Jimmy Carter.
The Council has a continuing commitment to build a system of high quality care for Georgia's mothers and babies. To assist in charting the Council's future direction, Public Dialogues are being held around Georgia. These Dialogues will provide information from local communities about critical issues that affect maternal and infant health in Georgia.
