Voice Response System

The Georgia Public Health Laboratory has a Voice Response System (VRS) for the Newborn Screening Program. This system enables enrolled submitters to access screening test results via a touch tone telephone 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

The VRS only contains results for specimens received prior to July 11, 2011. Results for specimens received from that date to the present are available through the eReports web portal.

To ensure confidentiality and security, your State Medical License number or a submitter code number is required to access the system. In addition, as a second security check, the system will prompt you to enter a "personal identification number" (PIN) that will be chosen by you when you enroll. To enroll in the system, please fill out the Registration Form for the Voice Response System.

Once you are registered with the system, screening results for any child born in the State of Georgia can be accessed using the newborn screening form number. Call 404-321-2293 or 404-321-2294 or 404-321-2297 and follow the voice prompts to gain access and to obtain test results.

State Electronic Notification Surveillance System (SendSS)

The State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System Newborn (SendSS ) is Georgia’s web-based child health information system. SendSS allows authorized health care providers to securely and easily access newborn screening results using the 10-digit kit number on the specimen card. If the kit number if not available, the child’s date of birth and mother’s first and last name at the time of delivery can be used.

To register, visit https://sendss.state.ga.us/sendss/login.screen. In the first sentence of the screen, select “Click Here” to get to the registration form (see screenshot below). If you have problems or questions, registration and login instructions are included on the login screen, or call the SendSS Administrator at 404-657-6450 for assistance.
