The "Keeping Kids Safe" Hospital Training Program


The goal of the "Keeping Kids Safe" Hospital Training Program is to establish and improve child safety seat initiatives in Georgia's hospitals by:
  • Training health care professionals in child passenger safety (CPS) basics
  • Promoting discharge of newborns in appropriate child restraints
    • Special focus on the angle tolerance test for small and premature infants
  • Increasing awareness about transportation issues for children with disabilities and special health care needs
  • Encouraging hospitals to develop consistent policies regarding CPS
