  • Georgia Third Grade Oral Health Survey PDF
    The purpose of this oral health report is to highlight the status of the oral health of third (3rd) grade children in Georgia who participated in the 2011 Georgia Third Grade Oral Health Survey. The survey also collected measurements of height and weight. Results are available in the Obesity in Georgia’s Third Grade Children, 2005 report.

This report presents information about the health conditions and concerns of Georgia’s children in middle childhood, which includes asthma, overweight and obesity, oral health, access to care, out of school time, child abuse, neglect and maltreatment.

    Georgia's Nutrition and Physical Activity plan (2005-2015) is a ten-year, comprehensive plan to prevent and control obesity and other chronic diseases by increasing breastfeeding, improving healthy eating habits, increasing physical activity and decreasing television viewing/screen time. Education, policy and environmental strategies are identified. The plan was developed by the Georgia Department of Public Health Division of Public Health and the Take Charge of Your Health, Georgia Task Force.
