State Performance Measures (SPM)

Each State reports on 7 to 10 State Performance Measures that they develop based on MCH Needs Assessment findings and have been approved by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). This procedure allows States to measure progress toward goals that are specific to a State.

State Performance Measures
SPM 1 Percentage of very low birth weight babies enrolled in High Risk Infant Follow up (HRIFU).
SPM 2 Percentage of high school students who participated in physical activity for at least 20 minutes on 3 or more of the past 7 days.
SPM 3 Rate of hospitalizations due to unintentional injuries among children ages one through five.
SPM 4 Percent of Medicaid and PeachCare (S-CHIP) enrolled children who received preventive oral health services.
SPM 5 Percent of women of reproductive age who consume at least 400mcg of folic acid daily.
SPM 6 Percentage of repeat pregnancies among Adolescents aged 15-17-years-old.
SPM 7 Ratio of SIDS and SUIDS among African American infants to white infants.
SPM 8 Percentage of Medicaid children who have had a developmental screening.
SPM 9 Percentage of MCH local level staff that receive basic Public Health training.
SPM 10 The extent to which partnerships that support Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) are effective.

State Outcome Measure
Each State reports on one State Outcome Measures that they develop and have approved by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB). This procedure allows States to measure progress toward goals that are specific to a State.

State Outcome Measures
