- Walk or bike the Silver Comet Trail - More than 60 miles long, the trail begins at the intersection of South Cobb Drive and the East-West Connector in Smyrna, Georgia and runs all the way to the Alabama border. - Participate in Neighborhood Walking Tours - Walk the same routes of historical Atlanta figures. The Atlanta Preservation organization provides guided walking tours through many of Atlanta's old neighborhoods including historic downtown, Sweet Auburn/Martin Luther King Jr. Historical District, Inman Park, Grant Park, Ansley Park and Druid Hills. Fee varies depending on tour.
- Tour the Oakland Cemetery - Now encompassing 88 acres with majestic oaks and some of the City's oldest magnolia trees, Oakland Cemetery is the 3rd largest green space in Atlanta and resting place to Atlanta legends, Margaret Mitchell and Bobby Jones. Self-guided tours are free.
- Enjoy one of the many festivals - With spring and summer months come free and fun festivals. Some of the largest include the Dogwood Festival and the Jazz Festival held annually in Piedmont Park. And don't forget the annual Sweet Auburn SpringFest.
- Visit the Georgia State Farmer's market - Located in Forest Park, the Georgia State Farmer's Market covers more than 150 acres and is the major distribution point for fresh produce in the Southeast.
