30 Moves to 30 Minutes a Day


  1. Ride your bike to the store
  2. Walk around the block anytime you need a break
  3. Take the stairs to your next meeting
  4. Check out an exercise video from the library and invite a few friends over
  5. Pace around the house while you talk on the phone
  6. Strengthen and lengthen by taking a yoga or pilates class
  7. Volunteer for a clean up day in a local park or your neighborhood
  8. Take the dog for a walk - don't have a dog, take your neighbor's dog
  9. Park further away from the store's entrance
  10. Go shopping and do an extra lap around the mall
  11. Walk over to visit a neighbor
  12. Get on or off the bus a few stops away and walk
  13. Plant a garden full of your favorite vegetables
  14. Weed your garden to keep your garden a beautiful, peaceful place
  15. Mop the kitchen floor - hit the bathrooms and foyer while you're at it
  16. Go for a hike in a nearby state park of recreation center
  17. Try rollerblading in the summer or ice skating in the winter
  18. Jump rope and feel like a kid again
  19. Buy a hula hoop and work on shrinking that waistline
  20. Red rover, red rover…play outdoor games with the kids
  21. Dance around the house to your favorite music
  22. Take an aerobics class
  23. Swim at a local pool, lake or at the gym
  24. Participate in a circuit type weight training class
  25. Vacuum and dust the house
  26. Do sit-ups and push-ups each morning
  27. Enter a bowling tournament or start your own
  28. Take a ballroom or salsa dance class with your partner
  29. Train for a 5K walk/run
  30. Mow the lawn with a push mower
