PHBRIEFS

This year at the annual meeting of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Georgia Public Health Laboratory received an award certificate for Excellence in Laboratory Record Keeping and Labeling for data we sent to FDA for the National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System (NARMS). In addition, they presented a FDA commemorative inscription plate to the Georgia Department of Public Health for member participation in the NARMS project. This plaque will be displayed in the lobby of the lab in Decatur. This recognition is the result of the dedicated work performed in Bacteriology Unit for the retail food antimicrobial resistance study, which is handled by Jim Benson. Congratulations for the job done well and for being selected nationally among all the participating public health laboratories.
