National Nurses Week Virtual Celebration

Each year, in commemoration of National Nurses Week and in celebration of Florence Nightingale’s birthday, founder of nursing as a modern profession, the Department of Public Health - Office of  Nursing recognizes nurses at the state, district and county levels for their contributions and commitment to public health nursing. The award recipients will be announced at the Nurses Week Celebration on May 3, 2012.

This year‘s National Nurses Week Celebration will be a virtual, taking place via VICs. There will also be a celebration at 2 Peachtree St. for those who would like to attend. Organizers ask that you RSVP for yourselves and the staff in your district who will attend no later than 5 p.m.on April 18.

MCH Book Drive
In Georgia, April is the Month of the Young Child, a time to recognize the needs of young children and thank the adults involved in their education and care. The Office of Child Health of the Maternal and Child Health Program at DPH is holding a children’s book drive. Books will be collected and donated to community partners. Bins are located on the 11th floor at 2 Peachtree St. Please place donations in these bins.
