Davis Joins DPH
Michael D. Davis, Ph.D., has joined the Georgia Public Health Laboratory in the newly created position of regional laboratory director. He will also function as deputy for Elizabeth Franko, Dr.PH, and is stationed at the Waycross Public Health Laboratory. Davis' last position was with the Alabama Department of Public Health as laboratory assistant director and he also served as the Detroit Department of Health's assistant director of laboratories.

Employee Featured in AJC Article
DPH employee Kenyata Arnold was interviewed recently by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for a story featuring adult students who have returned to the classroom to finish or earn additional degrees. Arnold works in human resources and plans to earn a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership at Point University in East Point. Read more here.

Online MPH for Working Professionals
The Career Master of Public Health (CMPH) program at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health is a distance learning program designed for working professionals unable to leave their job. Each semester, students are required to attend two long weekends on Emory's campus in Atlanta. All additional coursework is taught using the Internet and distance learning techniques. The majors offered are applied epidemiology, applied public health informatics and prevention science. The degree takes seven semesters for the full-time student and is fully accredited by CEPH and SACS. Apply by May 1, 2013 to guarantee consideration for the fall 2013 semester.
