State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (SENDSS)
The State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (SENDSS) is ready
for statewide release and use online at http://sendss.state.ga.us/.
The security of all data entered into SENDSS will be supported by Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption using VeriSign certification. Public health
officers, state officials, and other designated individuals will be provided
access to a password-protected set of dynamic web pages and web-based tools.
Future versions of SENDSS will allow users to download data that have been
entered into the system electronically to their own computer.
All districts and counties with Internet access should begin submitting notifiable
disease reports (not including TB, STDs, or AIDS) through SENDSS beginning
Jan 28. Previous users of the system during pilot testing will need to update
their user information upon accessing SENDSS. New users of the system will
need to register with on the SENDSS site before access to SENDSS will be permitted.
For those who are interested in SENDSS but do not have notifiable diseases
to report, please feel free to explore the SENDSS Demo
system.
Please contact Alex Cowell, SENDSS Business Analyst/Project Manager at 404-657-6444 or via email ajcowell@dhr.state.ga.us for information on SENDSS training, or for questions about the system.
