Georgia HAI Advisory Committee (HAIAC)

The Georgia HAI Advisory Committee (GHAIAC) is a voluntary committee charged with making recommendations to the Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) on the prevention of healthcare associated infections. The committee was created on December 2, 2009 by recommendation of stakeholders and appointed by DPH. The first meeting of the committee was held on June 30, 2010. The committee includes persons with expertise in surveillance, prevention and control of HAIs, healthcare providers, infection preventionists, hospital administrators, healthcare consumers, and physicians with expertise in infectious disease and epidemiology.
