physical activity, the costs of inactivity, and strategies to promote
physical activity in Georgia.
The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), a state-based surveillance system, has been gathering information about levels of physical activity among adults and related risk factors since 1984.
Levels of Physical Activity among Youth
The Georgia Student Health Survey [CDC's Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS)] obtains information from a random sample of public middle and high school students about the prevalence and age of initiation of various health risk behaviors including physical activity.
